Dear colleagues,
It is our pleasure to invite you to participate to the “International Workshop on Geomechanics and Energy” that will be held in Lausanne (Switzerland) on 26-28 November 2013, under the auspices of EAGE. The final annoucement, including the workshop program, is attached. Also, more information about the event can be found on the workshop website.
The workshop offers an excellent opportunity for debate and learning on the challenging topic of geomechanical engineering of energy geo-systems with 3 keynote lectures, about 60 oral and poster presentations and 4 debates. The 6 sessions of the workshop will be dedicated to the following topics:
- Conventional hydrocarbon exploration
- Non-conventional energy
- Deep geological disposal of radioactive nuclear waste
- CO2 storage
- Geothermal energy - Shallow
- Geothermal energy - Deep
Prior to the start of the workshop, a short course will be held on Monday 25 November 2013. The objective of this course is to give an insight into modern trends in geomechanics for multi-phase and non-isothermal geo-materials in relation to the design and exploitation of man-made geo-systems.
The registrations for the course and the workshop are currently opened and we would be glad to welcome you in Lausanne to participate to the workshop.
Best regards,
Lyesse Laloui (EPFL, Lausanne) and Bertrand François (ULB, Brussels)
